The secret to living a healthy life all lies in the choices you make. Every choice you make of can make a difference in your body, mind, and overall health. Already knew that? Then let's discuss the best options for you to choose on a daily basis. Whether it's what you should eat, when you should eat it, what sort of physical activity you should participate in, or how you start your day, it's all about them choices.
choose your food
Pay attention to WHAT you're eating and WHEN you're eating it! Eat more carbs earlier in the day, and more protein later in the day. Eat carbs before you workout, and protein after. Leave the sugary or fatty foods for breakfast or as late as lunch. If you're not being active, don't eat as much. Food is fuel, so choose accordingly. Reading food labels can help you out, as well.
When eating out, be very thorough about comparing menu items. Ask questions if you need to, and don't be afraid to ask for nutritional information. A LOT of what seems healthy at restaurants really isn't. Watch out for words like "lite" and "healthy" that are there to trick you. Make adjustments to your order to suite what you want your body to consume. Try and make every food choice a smart one! The more you practice, the better you get. I promise you will get better and better everyday. |
move your body
Even if you don't have time for physical activity everyday, make sure you give yourself time for it at least 3 times a week. Even if it's just doing some lunges before you hop into bed for the night, because that's the only time you have. Now, I want you to close your eyes and come up with 3 main goals you have for your health and body. Is it losing weight, toning up, building muscle, or strengthening your heart? Now, put those goals into motion. If you want to use weight, focus on cardio and fat burning activites, as well as incorporating a better diet. If you want to tone up, learn lean muscle moves with free weights, or high intensity interval training. If you want to build muscle, focus on heavy lifting and eating plenty of carbs and protein. If you want to be heart healthy, focus on cardio and a low fat diet. If you don't have any specific goals or just like working out in different ways, do everything! The best way to get your best body is to change up your workouts and try new things often. Keep your body challenged, and if you get bored of your current workout routine, change it! There is such an array of workout from all over the world to try. Start exploring!

daily positivity
What drives you? What are your goals in life? What makes you happy? Figure out what your motivation comes from to complete your daily life. Chasing your dreams is only easy if you keep one thing in mind: positivity. Look at mistakes and setbacks as learning lessons and tools to help you succeed next time. Make time for yourself and never stop doing the things you love. Treat yourself. If you ran an extra mile you weren't planning on, reward yourself with something you want. Keep yourself happy, because that's the only person that will always be around. While doing something you dislike, think to yourself, why am I doing this? What am I achieving from this? For instance, when going to that hour and a half class that you hate, think of how much you need that grade and let that be your force to get you there and alert. Surround yourself with things/people you love. Everyday when you wake up, think of the things you're happy about, what you're excited to do that day, and always always always keep your head up, and a smile on your face.
